2001 F/W Ready-To-Wear - Analysis

CHANEL
Fall 2001
Ready-To-Wear

1. Complementary Color Scheme was used.
It's seems that Karl Lagerfeld has a special favour on various chroma and values of green and magenta. It's not the first time I noticed these two colors in the Chanel's RTW collection. In my previous analysis, these two colors were also appeared in the Fall 09 RTW collection and 07 S/S RTW collection. This time, Karl Lagerfeld used the low chroma and high value of green and magenta. They are deeppink, darkturquoise, darkseagreen.

2. Achromatic Color Scheme for sure
It was not surprising that Karl Lagerfeld used the achromatic color scheme. However, he tried to use different texture and fabric to present his ideas. Like leather, silk, embroidery and also fur.

3. Coco Chanel print
Quite surprising, I've discovered a picture of Coco Chanel printed on the sweater.
Apart from achromatic color, camellia and the logo, here also one of the signature of Chanel.

4. Sport Wear Again
In the Fall 2001 RTW collection, Karl Lagerfeld had designed a skiwear. Why?It's because produces sportwear was one of the tradition of Chanel's fashion. Sportwear was also appeared in the 08 S/S RTW collection and 07 S/S RTW collection. However, it rarely notice that Chanel has produced this kind of winter coat.
